Dr. Brede
Dr. Brede graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1981, turning down a teaching position there to begin his lifelong journey to become the premier clinical general dentist he is today. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Brede graduated with a bachelor of science in Biophysics from Pennsylvania State University in 1978. Though originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Brede has been practicing in Needham for over 35 years.
Dr. Brede completed his initial implant training in 1996 and has since taken additional advanced courses in Bicon’s short implant technique. Dr. Brede is adamant about staying up to date on current dental advances, and therefore takes annual courses updating him on esthetic/restorative dentistry, soft and hard tissue surgical techniques, endodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics. He is also certified in Raintree Essix clear orthodontic aligners, and has been trained to treat TMJ issues pertaining to TMD.
In his free time, Dr. Brede enjoys fishing, golfing, skiing, and spending time with his family. Dr. Brede also has a passion for medical mission work, and travels annually to a dental clinic he has established in Hyderabad, India. Although he has also been on trips to Peru, Kenya and Brazil, his heart has truly remained with the orphans of the Agape International AIDS Orphanage since 2007. He now also serves as one of the orphanage’s American board members. Click on the logo below to read more about this foundation.
Dr. Brede has been consistently recognized as a Boston Top Dentist annually, a prestigious honor he has received for several years. You can read more about his recognition in the latest Boston Magazine article.
After four decades of practicing dentistry in Needham, I write to you today with a mix of gratitude, nostalgia, and heartfelt emotion to announce my retirement, effective December 31st 2025.
Since opening my doors in 1986, it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to care for you and your families. Dentistry has never just been a profession for me, it has been a calling. Through the years, I have witnessed your children grow into adults, and have shared both smiles and tears along the way. Some of you first came into my office as patients and over time became dear friends. For that, I am deeply thankful.
Looking back, I am incredibly blessed to have spent my career doing something I truly love. I’ve cherished the trust you placed in me, and I’ve done my best every day to honor that trust with compassionate, detailed, and dedicated care. You’ve allowed me to be a part of your lives in a very personal way, and that is a gift I will always treasure.
As I begin this new chapter, please know that ensuring a smooth and thoughtful transition for your care has been one of my top priorities. I leave your care in the hands of my exceptionally capable daughter Dr. Ashley Ciapciak, a highly skilled and compassionate dentist who shares my philosophy of patient-centered care. I trust that you will find in her the same dedication, warmth, and commitment to excellence that I have always strived to provide. As our practice continues to thrive, I look forward to her meeting and hiring additional dentists that match our practice philosophy.
Dr. Ciapciak, myself, and our BC Dental team will also continue to provide annual free comprehensive dental care to the 230 children of the Agape Orphanage in Hyderabad India.
Though I’m stepping away from the dental chair, the memories, and relationships I’ve formed over the years will always remain close to my heart. I hope to spend more time gardening, fishing, traveling, and maybe even work on my golf game (with varying success, I’m sure!).
Thank you again for your loyalty, your kindness, and the privilege of being your dentist. It has truly been a joy and an honor.
With sincere appreciation and warmest wishes,
Dr. Kendrick Brede, DMD
